Eric with his diploma.  He is very anti picture lately so he did not want to pose like he was supposed to.  He would hardly sing during the program because I had the video camera on.  Normally I have tons of funny pictures of him as he is really quite the ham but not during this phase.

Our Love Discussion

Often when I put the kids to bed we think of things to numerous or far away, to imagine, to say "I love you more than". Yesterday on our way home from grocery shopping Wesley pipes up out of the blue and tells his siblings "you know Mom loves me all the way to the moon". Eric, not to be out loved chimes in "yea and she loves me to the stars". I add in "and I love Tyler to the Sun and Josie to Pluto". Well that started a 20 minute discussion that contained things such as "Mom, Pluto is a dwarf planet and Josie is not a dwarf so why do you love her like that". And "Mom the Sun is not really that far away so how about if you love Tyler to somewhere farther". Obviousally my mistake was to individualize. I guess when it comes to Mama's love it is best to use all the same words. Eric finally put and end to it by saying "Mom how about if you just love us all to heavens roof and back". Good answer Eric. That is so vast and infinite and that is how much I love each of our 4 fantastic children.

I pray the judges see this ruling from the Supreme Court and begin letting other little ones with disabilities go home to families that want to love them.

GOD OF MIRACLES

WE ARE NOW THE PROUD PARENTS OF GREGORY KIRILL DAVIS. HE IS OURS. THE SUPREME COURT OVERTURNED THE JUDGE'S RULING. EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY, HIS NAME IS GREGORY KIRILL DAVIS AND WE WILL GO PICK HIM UP IN JUST A FEW SHORT DAYS AS SOON AS WE HAVE THE OFFICIAL COURT DECREE IN HAND. I WILL POST THE DETAILS WHEN I KNOW THEM. RIGHT NOW WE ARE IN A FLURRY OF TEARS AND EXCITEMENT AND WE WON'T KNOW EXACTLY HOW OUR NEXT FEW DAYS WILL GO UNTIL TOMORROW WHEN WE MEET AGAIN WITH OUR FACILITATOR.

Please pray for a little boy named Kirill, his new family and the supreme court judge.

A while ago I posted about a family that is trying to adopt a little boy with downs syndrome.  Tomorrow is their big day so I ask that you remember them in your prayers.  Children are blessings from God and no child should be left in an institution for his entire life.  His entire future lies in the hands of this Russian Supreme Court judge.  Pray that he will get to come home to the family that has grown to love him where he will have the future he deserves.  This ruling will set the bar for how judges in Kirill’s region see cases such as his. Please pray that God will soften the heart of the judge so not only Kirill will get to come home to his family but many other children will follow.

We leave in less than 24 hours. God is with us. We are going with him. We are taking peace, hope, and the understanding that HE is writing this story. We covet your prayers. We humbly ask for you to especially pray on May 24th beginning at 6:10 a.m. CST. This is the exact time we will be standing before the supreme court judge. Pray for him. Pray for our lawyer. Pray for Kirill. But above all else, pray that Christ is seen by everyone who hears Kirill's story. THANK YOU ALL! I will update here as soon as we know the supreme court ruling.

The difference between Girls and Boys

 We get asked quite often if we notice any difference in a girl verses our 3 boys.  The differences we see are shown in the pictures below.  Our sweet little girl loves to color and to sit on our laps and listen to books.  Besides being outside these are her 2 favorite things to do right now.  She loves to wear bracelets and says pretty all the time. 

As for boys: I think the pictures say it all.  We have been doing some construstion in our yard and there is currently some spots without grass so what do boys do?

Josie got to play in the sprinkler last week.  She laughed and laughed when she got in the water then would get mad when the water got in her face.  I'm gessing she is going to be quite the water baby this summer.

Mother's Day

Mother's Day was a great day at our house.  I got woke up to breakfast in bed that consisted of breakfast pizza.  Our 8 year old came up with the recipe and it was an interesting thing to start the morning off with.  The recipe consists of a cheese pizza topped with fruit that makes a happy face.  I also had a vase full of flowers that just began to bloom from our garden.  Of course what topped it all were all 4 kiddos and my wonderful husband singing Happy Mother's Day songs.    Mother’s Day makes me feel so grateful for the wonderful mothers in our lives.  My mother is a rock.  She is such an awesome lady in so many ways.  She has 5 children but has always had time for each of us.  She taught me so many things that has made me a better Mother to our children.  Chad’s Mom is also an amazing woman.  She taught my husband to be the wonderful man that he has become.  She has always been there for us for anything we could ever need.  Chad has told me many stories of his childhood full of good memories of his Mom.  We also have wonderful Grandmothers.  They are the glue that holds our extended families together.  They have taught us so many values and lessons in life. 

Today at church our Preacher’s sermon was taken from 1 Kings and was about 2 women that had babies within days of each other and one dies.  They were fighting over the live baby when King Solomon suggests that they cut the baby in half so each mother could have a part of the baby.  The real mother cries out, that the other woman can have the baby to spare her baby from harm.  The king granted her the baby but she showed that she unselfishly would have caused herself sure grief and pain but did it to save spare her child from harm.  I could not help but to relate this story to Josie’s birth mother.  She is also a Mother that we hold dear in our hearts.   See, she may not have her baby in her arms today, but she gave Josie the greatest gift.  She gave her the gift of life and then unselfishly made the choice to give her a new life. She gave her a life she could not give her herself.  I have not doubt that these choices have cause her a great amount of greif and pain but she did it for her child.  What a hard thing for any woman to do.  Even though we have never met, she will always be dear to me.  She gave us this little person that was missing from our family.  Happy Mother’s Day to our Mothers and Grandmothers and Happy Mother’s Day to a very special Mother in Russia. 

Eric

Eric is our second son and he has quite the personality.  He is a little dramatic, but quite the card. He has so much personality and is a very deep thinker. He a lot of his life planned out and the latest big decision is whether he will live in the dorm or stay with Mom and Dad when he goes to college here in about 13 years. He is quite serious about this too.   He is a very creative kiddo and is always making something out of all kinds of spare stuff. He learned a "fun" trick in one of his books and very secretly plays it on others a lot.  He takes 2 ketchup packets and put them folded under the toilet seat so when someone sits down they pop and splatter them.  He quietly and sneakily finds a way to get ketchup packets when we are at a restaurant then saves them until we don't expect it.  He is very convincing and has tried to convince people of the following:

Tried to convince our babysitter that he only goes to preschool 1 day a week and has a job the other days

Did convince Chad that it was PJ day when really it was the day that his class went Christmas Caroling for at the home for senior citizens. 

Has been trying to convince our hairdresser for months to give him a mohawk and to just not tell Mom or Dad. 

One day he stayed home sick and the next he convinced Chad he was still sick until I asked him later in the day “how is your throat" to which he replies, "good, welll, ummm, is my school out yet?

I forgot to mention, Eric has quite the fashion sense.  He started a new trend this year in preschool.  Athletic pants and cowboy boots. He really likes to wear zip up jackets worn as a shirt and his brothers way too big crocks in 2 different colors.  :)

I have no idea what was going thru his mind during this pose with 2 of our little friends. 

Eric is such a fun member of our family.  He is very loving and a wonderful son.  We love him dearly and can't imagine him any other way.
