The Mystery :)

There is quite the mystery going on at our house for the last 2 days. Yesterday "someone" rang our doorbell and left this book. We didn't get to see who it was but he boys were prettys sure it was a neighbor.

Then this morning we woke up and found this.

The boys were super excited and are pretty sure it is one of Santa's Elves that has come to visit.  The book says that the one rule is that no one can touch the Elf or it loses its magic.  The kids had to name their elf and so Sacagawea has become his name.  Our house is normally not too calm in the morning but today it was super crazy with all the kids looking for clues as to who put this Elf in our house.  Later Eric told me he had left his backpack in the car.  He put on his coat to go get it even though the car was in the garage.  Wesley also left his cowboy guns in there so they went out together to get their possessions.  It was taking forever but I had gone to change Josie so I thought maybe I had missed them coming back in.  Soon I go check and they are not in the garage or the basement so I was thinking they went to feed animals.  I go check and see a flashlight at a neighbor’s house.  No, they were not feeding animals instead they were going door to door ringing doorbells at 7:20 a.m. to find out if any of the neighbors had come in our house during the night and put an Elf in our fan.  Eric said that "one of them even had these curler thingies in her hair".  I wonder why, buddy!  Their retired and don't normally get visitors at that time.  Too funny!  I'm not so sure our neighbors thought so but we sure got a laugh.  Thankfully we have wonderful neighbors!  The Elf on the Shelf had definatly been a big hit at our house.  I wonder where Sacagawea will be when we wake up tomorrow??  :)

Dauphin Island for Thanksgiving

This year for Thanksgiving we met my whole family at Dauphin Island ALfor a long weekend. We had talked about doing something like this for about 5 years and have never made it happen. My oldest sister and her family live in GA so it was relatively close to them. We had a great time. We stayed in a house close to the beach and the kids had so much fun playing with their cousins. Josie had never met them and I think she had a lot of fun doing girly stuff.
